Rich’s love of the water started from an early age and he always felt most comfortable and relaxed when submerged in the blue stuff. Growing up he developed a love of the outdoors, becoming an experienced open water swimmer, surfer, paddle boarder, triathlete, mountain biker and cold water enthusiast.  Living and working on the banks of the Dordogne and the River Tarn in Southern France in his 20's meant being in the water became an essential part of his life and outdoor showering was a thrice daily affair.  

 

After a return to the UK and a hiatus in outdoor showering he took what was seen by others as an unconventional move and built a shower in his back garden. Not just for washing, it was also the ideal way to clean the bikes, boards and wetsuits. Such was his preference for outdoor showering the indoor bathroom was soon forgotten and he enthused to anyone that would listen about the experience of showering in the open air. It was soon apparent this was a major lifestyle change with the revelation that on cold winter nights, the steam bellowing and the stars glinting through the water made an outdoor shower enjoyable all year round. ​

In 2018, frustrated at having to shower indoors at his girlfriends house, he realised what she needed was an outdoor shower.  The boomerang present (the gift that comes back to you) was a simple click and go freestanding copper shower. Just happy to be showering outdoors again Rich didn't realise what an impact his gift would have - now a fully fledged convert to outdoor showering his girlfriend persuaded him this was an idea worth sharing and the first everwet shower was built and sold in 2019.
